Morad, Naseeb Peter “Moe” of Quincy, passed away May 2, 2017 at the age of 83. He was called home surrounded by loved ones.
Brother of the late Najeeba, Samuel, Louis, Frederick, James, Edward, Helena, Freda, Victor and Joseph, and survived by sisters Rose and Edna, brother Michael. Survived by his children Dianne and partner Michael Durfee, Matthew and wife Pamela, and Scott and wife Phoebe. Survived by grandchildren Melanie, Emily, Zachary, Joshua, Catherine, Theodora, and Samson. Also survived by many nieces and nephews (all of whom claim to be his favorite).
Moe was a proud son of Boston’s South End and a Cathedral High School graduate. For many years, he lent his booming voice to St. Mark’s Parish in Dorchester, where parishioners would attend multiple holiday Masses just to hear him sing. He had an immense love of sports, politics, and his adopted city of Quincy. In his later years, he was devoted to serving veterans in his community and proud that he and six of his brothers had served in the United States Army. He could often be found watching the ball game or helping out at the Quincy Sons of Italy.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 8 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 9 AM. Burial in Mt. Benedict Cemetery, W. Roxbury.
