Nancy T. Lynch

Nancy Lynch, 59, was taken by our Lord Sunday January 15th. Nancy was a force of nature who battled countless diseases and significant hardship her whole life, only to face multiple assaults in the end. Fortunately, she could take what she dished. She started working at a young age and continued working in various capacities in the restaurant business. Despite all odds, she gave birth and is survived by her son Francis Lynch, his two children Isaiah and Chloe, her Mother Therese Lynch, her brothers Timothy and Sean Lynch, and her sister Maureen Lynch. She loved animals, enjoyed Ann Rice’s Vampire Lestat de Loincourt, relished a gory and ghostly Stephen King novel, and wanted Marmaduke. She had the good sense to become a Red Sox fan and loved going to spring training games; although, the medically prohibited beers and the ability to make copious criticism of the players did have its attractions. As a lifelong egyptophile, she always named her cats after some Egyptian god or queen. The weight and humiliations of illness never prevented her from routinely doing a kind deed for others in need. And she always made a lasting impression, because of her formidable uncompromising will; her creative, colorful, and liberal use of profanity; and, of course, her gentle childlike soul. Heaven has its hands full, but is surely better by her addition. If they don’t realize it, she will tell them. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday, January 22 from 4-8 p.m. at Keohane Funeral Service, 785 Hancock Street, Quincy Nancy’s life will be celebrated at First Church of Squantum, 164 Bellevue Road, Squantum on Monday January 23rd at 10 a.m. (www.firstchurchsquantum.com). Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in her honor to Friends of CASA, Inc., www.casaboston.org
