Nancy S. Clifford

Clifford, Nancy S. (Slattery) of Norwell, formerly of Abington, passed away at home on August 28, 2010 after a long illness. Beloved wife of James D. Clifford. Loving mother of Laura Clifford and her husband Russ O’Haver of New Canaan, CT, Elaine Lloyd and her husband Stuart of New Canaan, CT, James D. Clifford, Jr. and his wife Antonia of Norwell, and Robert Clifford and his wife Donna of Hingham. Grandmother to Kirsten and Briana O’Haver, Keri, Henry and Alexandra Lloyd, Lily and Sofia Clifford, and George, Coleman and Francis Clifford. Sister of Jean Kougias of Watertown and the late Eileen Sullivan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Nancy was the first woman bank officer at Shawmut Bank in Boston. Later she taught for Boston Public Schools for 37 years, including the Charles Sumner School and the Washington Irving School in Roslindale. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Saint Helen’s Church, Norwell at 10 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.
