Nancy A. Osterstuck

Nancy Osterstuck, 76, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 7, 2025. She was deeply loved by her family and will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the joy she brought to those around her. She had a warm smile and a laughter that could light up a room, making everyone around her feel welcome and happy. Her presence was a source of comfort and joy to those lucky enough to know her.

Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, Nancy had a lifelong love for the ocean. She especially cherished her years living in Salem, where she could walk to the water and find peace in the tranquility of the waves. Later in life, she enjoyed the warmth and sunshine of Phoenix, Arizona, where she could relax under the sun. Although she was never fond of snow and extreme cold, returning to Boston in her final years rekindled her love for the Northeast’s four seasons, the sound of the ocean, and the beauty each season brought.

Nancy was a loving mother to her two wonderful children and was deeply loved by her daughter and her family. Above all, she was a devoted grandmother who treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, finding immense joy in every moment spent with them.

As a home health aide, Nancy found great fulfillment in providing care and support for her patients, who became more like an extension of her family. Her compassion and kindness touched the lives of so many, offering comfort and companionship to those in need.

She had a deep love for flowers and a special talent for creating the most beautiful arrangements for all to admire. She found peace in gardening, especially in the spring when she could enjoy the warmth of the sun and watch her flowers bloom. She also adored animals, especially her beloved dogs—Lilly, Rosie, and Toby—who were always by her side. In addition to her love for animals, she enjoyed collecting trinkets, with cows, roosters, pigs, and frogs being among her favorites.

Nancy is survived by her daughter Siiri Bantz and her partner Rich Sheridan, her son John Bantz, and her cherished granddaughters Shelby Sheridan and Caitlin Sheridan, along with Caitlin’s partner Ole Herrera. She also leaves behind her two beloved great-grandchildren, Valerie and Lucy. Additionally, she is survived by her niece, Kim Chatoff, and her family, and dear friends William and Theresa Thomas.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Myron “Skip” Osterstuck, her parents, Siiri and Emond Allaire, and her brother, Ronald.

Her kindness, laughter, and gentle spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Internment is private.
