Nancy M. Norton

Norton, Nancy M. (Bertucci) of Braintree, 79, passed peacefully on January 3rd after a brief illness. Nancy was born in Boston to the late Silvestro and Elvira Bertucci and grew up in Mattapan and HydePark. She attended Saint Josephs Academy of Roxbury, graduating with the class of ’56. Nancy then followed her dream, graduating from Massachusetts Memorial School of Nursing. Her professional practice bridged over forty years, focusing in geriatric care at Elihu White Nursing Home in Braintree and Eastwood Care Center in Dedham. She treasured her family and found great joy in being active. She loved being on the sidelines of school and sporting events, as well as dance, theatrical and musical recitals. She loved to watch all things grow and was an active gardener who planted her seeds of hope, peace, and joy. She had a keen interest in politics and was always eager to share her impressions and enthusiasm for change. She loved to travel and explore new places with family and close friends. She particularly enjoyed her trips down 3A and route 53 to “the Cottage” in Marshfield, never missing out on a walk down to Rexhame beach.

Beloved wife of the late Francis T. Norton Jr. Mother of Nancy S. Doyle and her husband Richard of Weymouth, Scott F. Norton also of Weymouth, Timothy F. Norton and his wife Sheila of East Bridgewater, and William F. Norton of Braintree. Noni of 6 grandchildren: Sarahkate, Amelia, Neive, Jared, Richard, and Hala. Sister to John Bertucci and Lois Hutton of Duxbury, Edward Bertucci and his wife Maureen of FL, and Chief Master Sergeant Gerald Bertucci USAF (ret) and his wife Bupha of MS.
