Nancy M. Morrison (Palma) of Holbrook, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2015 surrounded by her loving family after a long illness at the age of 65.
Born and raised in Quincy, she was the daughter of the late Anthony F. Palma and Janet C. Palma. After marriage, she moved to Holbrook where she had resided for the last 40 years. Nancy was active in her children’s sports, which included basketball, soccer, volleyball, and softball. Nancy spent many years coaching Holbrook Girls softball and soccer. Her children’s sporting events took her and her husband, Bruce, all over the northeast. She and Bruce never miss ed a game. Nancy was considered to be a second mother to many of her children’s friends and teammates. A truly selfless woman, Nancy extended her generosity and kindness to everyone and was a source of humor and strength for her family and friends.
Wife of the late Bruce R. Morrison, Nancy is survived by her daughter Cori A. Andersen and husband Sean of Plymouth, Alex D. Morrison and wife Clare of Weymouth, Dawn M. Smith and husband Stephen of Brockton, Mark Morrison of Las Vegas, NV, Michele Herbel and husband Terry of Yorba Linda, CA, and Bruce Morrison, Jr. and wife Maria of Millville; her grandchildren, Stephen Jr. Taylor, Zackery, Steven, Christopher, Jonathan, Caleb, Kyle, Aiden and the newest addtions, Mackenzie and Lyla. She is survived by her 4 sisters, Susan Buccini of Weymouth, Mary J. Morse of Weymouth, Janet M. Vlassakis of Hanover, Theresa B. Lawyer of Scituate; and her five brothers, Anthony F. Palma, Jr. of Plymouth, Robert T. Palma of Plympton, Antonio F. Palma of San Diego, CA, David A. Palma of Hull, Richard A. Palma of Burlington, CT and the late Kenneth J. Palma. A beloved aunt, she is also survived by 25 nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, 40 Sea St., NORTH WEYMOUTH. Family and friends will gather directly at St. Ann’s Church, 757 Hancock St., in Quincy on Friday for a Funeral Mass at 10 AM. Donations in memory of Nancy may be made to the Alzheimers Assn., MA Chapter, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472, American Lung Assoc. of MA, 460 Totten Pond Rd., Waltham, MA 02451, or a charity of your choice.
