Nancy M. Mclaughlin

Nancy  McLaughlin was called home by the angels on September 30th. at the age of 68 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s

She was born to Anthony and Nancy (Benotti) Fazio of Braintree on Sept. 10, 1952. and  graduated from Braintree High School in1970. After high school she worked for Prudential Insurance in Boston. She graduated from Mansfield Beauty Academy and spent many years as a hairdresser and colorist for Phillip DePalma Hair Salon in Medfield, Ma. In 1980 she met her husband Jerry McLaughlin on a blind date who was an Army Recruiter in  Boston and were married in1981. After living in Abington for 10 years they moved to Hull in 1993 to be closer to the ocean and their many friends in Hull. In 1994 they were blessed with the arrival of their daughter Brynn. Nancy became a stay at home mom and in 2010 went back to school at Quincy College where she received her associate degree in English. She was very active in the Hull Girl Scouts and became a troop leader and the Girl Scout’s Town Coordinator for many years. 

Nancy like her mother had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She was a lead singer in a band for many years and she could be heard singing away as she cooked when you walked by the house on a summer day. She loved to cook and could whip a meal out of anything. She loved making homemade pasta from scratch. She also loved to sew and was well know for her handmade holiday flags that flew from her front porch.

She leaves behind her husband of 40 years Jerry and her daughter Brynn McLaughlin of Hull. Her brother Paul Fazio and wife Anne from Bethel, Vt. and a brother Philip Fazio who preceded her in death. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday Oct. 7 from 4-8pm in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (Off Central St.) Hingham followed by a Funeral service on Wednesday evening at 7:30pm.

Burial will be private.
