Nancy J. Kilton

Nancy J. (Palmer) Kilton, passed away August 7, 2016, surrounded by family.

Predeceased by her first husband Robert F. Lynch, she was also the beloved wife of the late Richard L. Kilton. Nancy is survived by her devoted daughters Deborah A. Lynch of East Weymouth, Lauren E. Lynch and her partner Maureen McCabe of Quincy, her beloved son Michael D. Lynch and his wife Barbara of Millis; also survived by several grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Nancy was the only child of Eleanor (Wright) Palmer and A. Waldo S. Palmer. She was raised in Wollaston by her cherished grandparents Laura Thurston Wright and Brazillia Ellis Wright.

Nancy graduated from St. Ann’s Episcopal Girl’s School in Arlington, MA and went on to spend her early years living and working in Boston. She was proud to be a Bostonian and her heritage dates back as a descendant of the Pilgrims, the first settlers of Massachusetts.

She worked in retail for many years, at the offices of Lechmere Company and most notably sales associate for Revlon at Jordan Marsh. She retired from her favorite job at UMass Boston where she truly enjoyed being in the diverse atmosphere of a college campus while working in the Human Resources Department.

An avid reader, she kept herself up to date on current events and enjoyed lively political discussions. She was a lover of the arts and a lifetime member of the Museum of Fine Arts, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and a talented cook. In her world travels she visited England, France, Switzerland and Italy fulfilling a lifetime dream.  During her retirement, she enrolled in painting classes at the Whipple Center in Weymouth where she worked on various techniques and flourished in her craft.

Nancy often reminisced about the happy times she spent in Osterville and going to Craigville Beach with her father. She carried on this family tradition throughout the summers with her own children, instilling in them the same love of the ocean.

She was a kind, caring person and a dedicated contributor to Globe Santa. Nancy loved her cats rescuing many of them throughout the years; including Miss Molly, Gertie, Gracie, and Fedor to name a few.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street).

Private graveside service will be held in Hillcrest Cemetery, Plympton at a later date.
