Nancy E. Nichols

HINGHAM – Nancy E. (Young) Nichols, a retired accountant and avid quilter, died at home following a lengthy illness on Thursday, January 22, 2015. She was 68.

Born in Boston, Nancy was a lifelong resident of Hingham graduating from Hingham High School in 1964. She worked locally as an accountant for many years.

She enjoyed several hobbies including reading, drawing and quilting. Quilting was especially enjoyable for Nancy who attended an annual quilting weekend in Nantucket and made quilts for her family.

Nancy was the loving mother of Jason Nichols of Grosevenordale, CT, Victoria Damon of Hingham, Matthew Nichols of Las Vegas, Leah Belcher of Rockland and the late David Nichols; the devoted sister of Carol Young of Hingham, Marilyn Young of Hingham, Grace Williams of FL, Kathleen Young of Hingham and the late Christine Arthur and the beloved “Nana” to sixteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 10:30 AM. Private burial will take place at a later date.
