Nancy Desharnais

Nancy (Downes) Desharnais of Weymouth, formerly of Hull, entered into rest peacefully with her family by her side September 26, 2015.

Nancy grew up in the Mission Hill section of Roxbury and graduated from Mission Hill High School in 1955. Nancy was a member of St. Mary’s Sodality in Hull and was a devoted mother. Nancy was a CCD teacher, and a proud cub scout and girl scout mom. She was a member of the Hull Garden Club and loved reading books. The cornerstone of Nancy’s life was her family, she enjoyed spending time with all the grandchildren.

Beloved wife of the late Robert J. Desharnais. Loving mother of Robert J. Desharnais, Jr. and his wife Loretta of Parma, OH, Richard F. Desharnais of Randolph, Laureen M. Reilly and her husband Steven of Quincy, Ronald M. Desharnais and his wife Vickie of Hooksett, NH, Raymond G. Desharnais of No. Weymouth, Anne M. Wright and her husband Doug of Charleston, SC, Frances D.  Desharnais and her partner Tara of Randolph, and Vincent A. Desharnais and his wife Jennifer of Hingham. Loving daughter of the late Francis J. Downes and Margaret (Ward) Downes. Sister of the late Rev. Francis R. Downes C.S.S.R, and Mary Murphy and her husband David of Nashua, NH. Devoted “Eny” and “Nan-Nan” of 15 grandchildren, including her late granddaughter Elizabeth Jeanne Desharnais, and 7 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Funeral Mass will be held in Our Lady of Perpetual Help (Mission Church), Boston at 10am on Wednesday. Burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
