Nancy Davis Welch of Rockland passed away in her home on August 19th.
Nancy grew up in Charlestown, MA. She was the daughter of Robert Davis and the late Patricia Davis. Beloved wife to husband Michael, and loving mother to son Ian, and daughter Lena; she also leaves behind sisters Karen Riordan, Lynne Rebelo and Christine Gover, along with their families.
Nancy graduated from Boston Latin in 1985. She then earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts at Boston, and later her Master’s in Education from Bridgewater State University. Nancy was a devoted educator who began her teaching career at her childhood school of St. Francis in Charlestown. She then taught at the Bennett School in Cali, Colombia, followed by the American School in El Salvador. Since 1998 Nancy worked for the Weymouth Public Schools as a fifth grade teacher, and recently as the district’s K-8 Math Coach.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday August 23 from 2-5 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, South Weymouth at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:30 AM for a Celebration of Life Service, Monday August 24, prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 9:30 AM. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth.
