N. Theresa Forbes

Nora Theresa Forbes (Donohoe) “Terry” 87 years of age of Quincy, died on August 24, 2014,  devoted wife of John L “Jack” Forbes and loving mother of John and wife Cindy of East Boston, William  and wife Susan of Methuen, Peter  and wife Kathleen of Braintree, Ann Sullivan and husband Duane, Mary Gallotto and husband Mario, Paul  and wife Sue, Joan Dunn and husband Jim, Terry Free and husband Mark all of Quincy and Michael and wife Marlene of East Boston. Sister of  Rita Nazzaro and her husband Al, Martin Donohoe, Patrick Donohoe and Mary O’Sullivan all deceased  and survived by brother Hugh MacAlese. Also survived by sisters in law Sally and Peggy Donohoe.  Terry is also survived by thirty four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Her life long friend was Dot Riley.

Terry grew up in South Boston and graduated from the Gate of Heaven High School and the Windam Secretarial School in Boston. Early in her career Terry was employed by the Boston City Hospital and the Catholic Boys Guidance Centre.  Terry took time out to raise a family of nine children and then went back to work with her husband Jack as the Executive Secretary at the East Boston Social Centers. Her work at the Social Centers included many years running the store for the campers at the East Boston Camps. Terry then transitioned to a position as an administrative assistant in the Quincy District Court Probation Office. She was an active volunteer for 25 years at the Forbes School of Irish Step Dancing that is owned by her daughters. Terry led an active life and was loved by many. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 3-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:45 am Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. John’s Church, Quincy at 11:30 AM. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn, MA.
