Monica Bylsma

Monica J. Bylsma of Weymouth, passed away on July 17, 2023. She was 48 years old.

Born in Boston she was the daughter of the late Richard and Mary J. Bylsma (McMahon). Monica was also the companion of the late Anthony Balbuena with whom she shared 22 years. She enjoyed travel and going to the beach. She worked as a concierge at the Sheraton hotel for many years, as well as Old Town Trolley, where she helped visitors to Boston enjoy the City. She also loved working as an extra on movie sets, most recently working on the Whitney Houston film. She loved her friends and family and had the most joy spending time with them.

Beloved mother of Hope Balbuena of Weymouth. Cherished sister of Kimberly McCleary and her husband Dino of Boston, Alexis Bylsma and her late husband Mark Hull of West Warwick RI. Monica will also be remembered by her nieces, Emma and Fiona McCleary and nephew Tyler Bylsma-Hull, as well as her extended family members and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Saturday, July 29th between 2-5 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rt. 18 opp. South Shore Hospital) , Weymouth.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Monica may be sent to Kimberly’s venmo – @Kimberly-McCleary or checks made out to Kimberly McCleary for Hope’s care and immediate expenses, as well as for funeral costs. There is also a GoFundMe listed on Facebook.
