Millicent Long

Long, Millicent (Pithie) of Hingham June 27, 2005. Wife of the late Richard A Long. Loving mother of Janice M. McCarthy of Hingham, Millicent Broderick of Canada, Barbara Long of Hull, Daniel A. Long of Hull, and Kevin R. Long of TX. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM Thursday at 9 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday 6-9 PM. Cremation will follow. Millicent was born in Scotland. When she came to the United States she lived in Dorchester for 55 years. She was a graduate of Alice Copeland Business school in Scotland. Millicent volenteered at Carney Hospital in Dorchester whenever she could. She had a passion for traveling the world and she was a real people person. She spent a lot of time raising money for the Dorchester Y.M.C.A. to help build a swimming pool.
