Mildred H. Smiddy

Mildred H. Smiddy (MacGowan) of Weymouth, formerly of Rockland and Dorchester, died November 9, 2013 at the age of 86.

Mildred enjoyed bingo and was a great cook. She devoted her life to her family and cherished family celebrations. She took many trips to California to visit family and also traveled to Ireland, Scotland, the Bahamas and many other destinations.

Wife of the late Maurice J. “Moe” Smiddy. Loving mother of Maurice S. Smiddy and wife Kerri Anne of Quincy, Margaret J. Webb and husband Donald B. of Arlington, Mildred R. Stephens-Smiddy and husband Nathaniel S. of San Diego, CA, Michael J. Smiddy of Largo, FL, Maureen D. Pallamary and husband Michael J. of San Diego, CA, and Martin G. Smiddy and wife Kathleen A. of Weymouth. Sister of Adelene “Deanie” McGrath of Abington and the late Margaret Mastrangelo. Dear friend of Gerry Daly. She was the cherished “Nana” of Michelle, Michael, Bridget, Stephen, Andrew, Joseph, Jenny, Nate, Jeremiah, Michael, Justin, Sean and Kiley; “GiGi” of Olivia, Emmerson, Connor, Luka, Marko, Paige and Bostyn; and “Auntie Millie” to many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
