Giovanniello, Mildred E. “Meg” (Whiteway), 80. Longtime Scituate resident died March 9, 2006 after a brief illness. Beloved mother of Karen L. Giovanniello of Squantum. Close friend of Carol M. Lowd of Squantum. Loving cousin of Beatrice Rooney of Plymouth. Godmother of Timothy Lafferty of Methuen. Also survived by many dear and close friends and her special pal, Sheba. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Mass in celebration of Mildred’s life on Wednesday in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, Scituate Harbor at 10 AM. Interment will be private. Donations in Mildred’s memory may be made to South Shore Hospital Foundation, 55 Fogg Road, S. Weymouth, MA 02190-2455. Mildred was a graduate of Girls’ High School in Roxbury. She had a long, successful career at the First National Bank of Boston. After retiring from the Bank, Mildred subsequently worked for many years at Rockland Trust Company. An avid reader, Mildred regularly rummaged through the shelves at the Scituate library for her favorite authors. Mildred also loved spending countless hours at home tending to her beautiful gardens that were admired by her neighbors and all passersby. She enjoyed her weekly bowling league and an occasional Bingo game with her friends.
