Michael W. Roberts

Michael W. Roberts, 61 of Weymouth passed away on Friday July 10, 2020 after a period of declining health at South Shore Hospital, Weymouth. His family and long time loving companion, Donna Senske, were at his side.

Michael was born September 17, 1958 in Brockton MA the son of the late Marilyn (Moore) Roberts and Floyd Bonner. Michael picked up a guitar at the age of ten. It became his greatest passion. He was an accomplished musician, well known and loved by many in New England and beyond. He will forever and fondly be remembered as “Guitarman.” Mike played guitar for numerous bands. With the Silver Saddle band he opened shows for artist such as Roy Clark, Willie Nelson, Faith Hill, Marie Osmond, Charlie Daniels to name a few. He was presented with numerous awards by the Massachusetts Country Music Awards Association; along with the CMA of RI and was inducted into the MCMAA Hall of fame along with his sisters Cathie and Diane Roberts. Mike was an avid “foodie,” he enjoyed playing Steel Guitar, going on vacations (especially to Nashville and Vegas), going to car shows, long drives to relax, playing golf, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sally-ann, sister Diane Scott and his parents. He is survived by his love and soulmate Donna Senske and their beloved cat Mikey, four sons Michael Grant and wife Allison, Michael Roberts Jr. and partner (Patricia Ann Nadeau), Shawn Roberts and wife (Adrienne), Adam Roberts and partner (Tysha Johnson), 10 Grandchildren, three sisters, Joanne Fulton and husband (Clyde), Jean Rogers and husband (Larry) Catherine Keets and many nieces and nephews. Due to the pandemic, there was no formal service, but there will be a celebration of life at a later date.
