Michael Shields

Shields, Michael of Quincy,  originally from Banbridge, Co. Down, Ireland died May 5, 2016 surrounded by his family.  The beloved husband of 50 years to  Catherine C. “Chris” (Healy) Shields of Quincy. Loving father of Denise O’Keefe and her husband Kevin of Kingston, Sean Shields and his wife Debbie and Michael Shields and his wife Kathy  all of Hanover, Martin Shields and his wife Katie of Milton, Christine Sullivan and her husband Brendan of Dorchester and Anne Brennan and her husband Chris of Norwell. Grampa of Katelyn, Kevin, Emily, Avery, Kathryn, Liam, Declan, Connor, Martin,  Nolan, Thomas, Lillian, Nora  Brother of Rosaleen Brown and Philomena “Mena” Walsh both of Ireland and the late Theresa Cullen, John and Patrick Shields, Margaret “Bessie” McMullin  and Bridget McElroy.

For many years Michael served as the head usher at St. Ann’s Church in Wollaston, he was not only active in his Parish Community but in the Quincy Community as well. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-8pm in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, WOLLASTON.  Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM.

Burial will be private.
