Michael L. Dunphy

Dunphy, Michael L. of Weymouth, passed away suddenly on April 4, 2024. He was 54 years old.

Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island in 1969, he was the son of Suzanne and the late Edward Dunphy.

A graduate of Bryant University Class of 1993, where he was a devoted TEP Brother.  Mike carved a path through life marked by joy, commitment, and the pursuit of happiness in its purest forms. His legacy is one of humor, friendship, and an unbridled passion for the experiences that make life truly vibrant.  Mike was dedicated to his job at Inly School where he was a Payroll and Accounting Manager for 10 years.

Mike’s spirit was perhaps most evident in his dedication to the simple pleasures. Friday nights were sacred; devoted to date nights that became a cherished tradition with his wife Ann-Marie. He was the life of any martini party, mixing not only drinks but also a sense of camaraderie among those he held dear. His culinary prowess shone brightly on occasions like St. Patrick’s Day and Christmas, when he would lovingly prepare meals that became the centerpiece of family gatherings, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Music and travel were among Mike’s greatest joys. He was a familiar face at concerts and loved to tell Dad jokes. However, it was his travels to Ireland and Las Vegas that truly captured his imagination, each destination a reflection of the duality in his nature—the reverence for heritage and the love for excitement. Mike’s adventurous spirit found its match in the rolling greens of golf courses, where he would spend hours challenging himself and enjoying the company of friends.

For over three decades, Mike was a proud and dedicated season ticket holder to the New England Patriots. His loyalty to the team was as unwavering as his commitment to the concept of “forced family fun,” a phrase that encapsulated his belief in the importance of shared experiences and the value of time spent together with his family.

Funny, friendly, and passionate—these words only begin to scratch the surface of a man whose laughter was infectious and whose heart was as open as the skies he loved to explore. Mike’s presence could light up a room, and his absence will be felt deeply in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Michael L. Dunphy’s journey through life was a testament to the beauty of fully embracing every moment. As we say goodbye to a man who was so much more than the sum of his parts, we find solace in the rich tapestry of memories he has left behind—a legacy of love, laughter, and the pursuit of happiness that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Loving husband to Ann-Marie Dunphy. Cherished father to Samantha Davis and her husband Charlie of NC and Robert Dunphy and his partner Brandi Casey of NC.
