Michael Jarlath Mcgrath

Michael Jarlath McGrath of Ballykinave Claremorris, Co. Mayo Ireland peacefully entered into eternal life on Sunday Morning Apr 29, 2018.

Like most Jarlath left the west of Ireland 57 years ago for a better life. He enjoyed having steady, meaningful work (two jobs most of his life), He knew the value of a dollar and didn’t spend more than he earned, he always enjoyed a good meal, sweets, reading his newspapers, taking a train ride, walking, Irish dances, and sharing chocolates with his granddaughters. He was a devoted Roman Catholic who lived in Saint Ann’s Parish Wollaston, MA for over 40 years.

He was the faithful husband to the late Katherine Mary nee Rogan (RIP) June 18, 2009. Father to Maryellen McGrath-Howie, father in law to Christopher D. Howie, “Papa McGra” to Lillian Jean & Roseleen Katherine Howie of Braintree, MA. Loving brother to Kevin spouse Ita McGrath of Quincy, Brother to John McGrath spouse Ann McGrath from Indiana,  Brother to Anne T. McGrath spouse Stewart Dunbar of Grand Falls Canada. Brother to sister Marion (RIP) spouse Sean Hession (RIP). Brother in law to Martin Rogan spouse of Evelyn Rogan, Elizabeth McCaul spouse of Peter McCaul, Helen Doody spouse of Liam Doody, Breege McCaul spouse of Peter McCaul, and Margret Kennedy spouse of John Kennedy. He was also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews across the globe.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 8:45-10:15 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY followed by a funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jarlath may be made to Autism Speaks, 1060 State Road, 2nd Floor, Princeton, NJ 08540.
