Michael James Kennedy

Kennedy, Michael James of Quincy, 53, died Tuesday  December 30, 2014 at Boston Medical Center after a short illness.

Born in Dorchester,  he was the son of Mary Kennedy of Quincy and the late Denis Kennedy.  Michael was a carpenter who worked on many major local construction projects as well as smaller commercial and residential jobs. He also worked for the Metropolitan District Commission. He was a longtime member of the Carpenters Local 33 in Boston, as well as a graduate of North Quincy High School and Wentworth Institute of Technology. In addition to his mother, Michael is survived by three sisters, Anne Kennedy Speidel of Forest, VA, Kathleen Kennedy of Toulouse, France and Mary Gabrielle Kennedy of East Bridgewater and two brothers, Patrick Kennedy of Braintree and Denis Kennedy of Newburyport. Michael is also survived by seven nieces and nephews and many cousins both in the United States and Ireland.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 3-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 9;30 am  prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
