Michael J. “Jack” Carney, Jr.

Carney, Michael J., Jr. ”Jack” of E. Taunton, formerly of Quincy, died March 6, 2016. 

Jack was born and lived in Quincy for most of his life prior to the last 10 years in E. Taunton.  He was an engineer for Verizon and a United States Army Veteran.  Jack’s family was the focal point of his life.  He enjoyed coaching when his children were young at both Quincy Youth Hockey and St. Ann’s School Basketball. When the grandchildren arrived he attended every practice, game, and activity that he possibly could.  An avid golfer, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus Golf League and frequented Little Harbor Golf Course.  He was meticulous about maintaining his always green lawn and had a passion for the New England Patriots.  He will be remembered for his loyalty, kindness, upbeat personality, and generous nature. 

Beloved husband of Maureen (Rafferty) Carney of E. Taunton.  Loving father of Kevin Carney and his wife Cathi of Quincy, Brian Carney and his wife Tricia of Quincy, Tracy Carney McGonagle of E. Taunton, and Sharon Carney of E. Boston.  Dear son of the late Michael J. Carney Sr. and Margaret A. (Arbuckle).  Cherished brother of Gregory Carney of Abington and the late Ronald Carney.  Loving “Grandpa” to Brian Carney, Jr., Kevin Carney Jr., Ian Carney, Maggie McGonagle and Jack McGonagle.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral service will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne.
