Michael graduated from Archbishop Williams High School, Braintree in 1967 and later received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University in 1972, followed by a Master’s degree. In 1977, Michael began his engineering career at Helix Technology CTI Cryogenics, which, in 2006 was acquired by Brooks Automation, from where Michael retired in 2012 as Technical Marketing Engineering Director. Michael was a member of the Society of Mechanical Engineering and personally held 22 patents related to cryogenic technology. He was a longtime board member for ULVAC. During his time at Northeastern, Michael pursued his interest in sailing and photography, both of which became a lifelong passion. As a boy, Michael began to develop his musical talents and became an accomplished pianist. He enjoyed boating, fishing and archery. In high school, while working for Weymouth Recreation, he taught archery to many students including those with special needs and the sight impaired. Michael’s love of the ocean, led him to join the West Dennis Yacht Club in 1986, becoming Commodore in 2003 and serving as chairperson of their Long Range Planning Committee. He was a member of the Randolph Lions Club, the Weymouth K of C, and volunteered as a Scout Master for Troop 117 in Weymouth. Most of all, Michael cherished time with his loved ones. Family gatherings, where he served his home cooked Italian specialties, were a great joy. He enjoyed every minute with his grandchildren and was looking forward to more in the future.
