Michael Horvath

Mr. Michael Horvath of Weymouth, passed away on January 3, 2019.

Michael was a Boston Police officer for 33 years before his retirement in 2001 with the harbor unit. He also served his country proudly during the Vietnam war with the United States Army. He was a life member of both the Town River Yacht Club in Quincy and the Dorchester Yacht Club where he was a Past Commodore. Michael enjoyed boating, traveling and the greatest joy in his life was spending time with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved him. 

Beloved husband of Donna D. (David) Horvath.

Loving father of  Michael Horvath, Jr. and his girlfriend, Kimberly Kenney of Pembroke and Mark Horvath and his wife, Therese, of Killingly, CT. Father in law of the late Sandra L. Horvath.  Proud Pa of Mark Jr, Courtney, Sarah, and Cassidy. Brother of Karen Cannon of Weymouth. Loving cousin of Martha Breheney of Buzzards Bay.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 3-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square).

Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30 AM Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial in Old North Cemetery, Weymouth.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Michael may be made to Alzheimers Assn., MA Chapter, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
