Michael G. Sands 62, of Dorchester passed away on Wednesday October 23, 2019 following a brief illness.  

Born in Boston, he was a son of the late Edward R. Sands and Evelyn M. (Monahan) Sands.  He was a graduate of Dorchester High School, and worked for many years as a Project Manager for John Hancock in Boston.  Michael enjoyed traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.  

Michael was the father of Michael Sands of Wakefield, brother of Robert Sands and his wife Cheryl of Tyngsboro,  Sister Barbara Moccio of Dorchester, Sister Linda Downey and her husband Gerard of Quincy, Brother Joseph Sands of Quincy, and the late Brother Steven Sands.  He was the uncle of Eric and Tiffany Sands, Dawn and Billy Lipp, Anthony, Erica and Shaina Moccio, Kyle and Kelsey Downey,  Joe and Julia Sands, and is survived by many grand-nieces and nephews.  Michael was great dad, a great friend and loved dearly by his family and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday from 2-6 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, with a prayer service beginning at 5:30 PM.  Funeral Service is private.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Michael’s memory to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
