Michael Francis Joyce

Joyce, Michael Francis of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester, died peacefully at his home on August 19, 2013, surrounded by his loving family, he was 84.

Michael was born in Pittsburgh, PA and raised in Ballinakill, Lettermullen, Co. Galway, Ireland. The devoted husband of Barbara (Cloonan) Joyce.

Loving father of Michael M and his wife Kathy of Milton, Patrick C. and his wife Deborah of Marshfield, Barbara Ann Powers and her husband Craig of Dorchester and Anthony and his wife Bridget of Dorchester.  Son of the late Patrick and Frances (McKeoin) Joyce. Dear brother of Maureen Winston of Clonmel, Co. Tipperary and the late John, Patrick and Anthony. Doting Grandfather of Anthoney, Sean and Sarah. Step Grandfather of Donnie, John and Joe. Step Great Grandfather to John, Jr. Cherished Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Michael loved to travel and enjoyed fishing. He had a strong work ethic and was a long time member of laborers local #223. The foundation of all that was truly important to him was his family, he was devoted to them and in return they cherished him. They will miss their beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather, but they are very grateful for all the blessings he brought into their lives. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him. May he rest in peace.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 5-8PM at the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, Quincy. A Celebration of Life service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 9:15 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Quincy on Saturday at 10am. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
