Michael Farquharson

Farquharson, Michael of Quincy, passed away September 19, 2011. Beloved son of the late Robert Farquharson, and the late June and John Glynn. Loving father of Cindy Farquharson of Quincy and Stacey Grigar of New Hampshire. Cherished grandfather of Anthony Farquharson. Loving brother of Robert Farquharsan of Quincy, Daniel Farquharson of Quincy, John Glynn and his wife Bonnie of Plymouth, Barry Glynn and his wife Paula of Quincy and Garry Glynn and his wife Megan of Norwell. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Michael served proudly in the U.S. Army and later joined the postal service. He worked for the Post office for 30 years, mostly in the Montclair section of Quincy. He went to Florida a few years ago where he enjoyed retirement. He was an avid Boston sports fan and enjoyed all the recent success. Being in Florida Michael would always follow the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, and Celtics. He Loved his two daughters, Cindy and Stacey, and grandson Anthony. Michael was just starting his retirement when diagnosed with cancer. Although his condition was terminal he was determined to live a fulfilling life. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Michael may be made to Autism Speaks, 5455 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 2250 Los Angeles, CA 90036.
