Conroy, Michael F. of Quincy suddenly on May 5, 2006. The Beloved Husband of 51 years to Mary (Casali) Conroy. Father of Michael F. Conroy, Jr. of Stoughton, Kathleen Stachowski of Braintree, Terese O’Connor of Auburn and Mary Meany of Marlborough. Michael is predeceased by his 9 brothers and sisters the late James, Anthony, Steve, John and Phil Conroy and Helen Balducci, Mary Burns, Margaret Ludwick and Grace Leary. Brother in law of Mario & Norma Casali of Braintree Dear Friend of Paul & Elizabeth Barry of Quincy. Mr. Conroy is also survived by 16 grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Tuesday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Wollaston at 10 AM. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 PM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. Donations in memory of Mr. Conroy may be made to The New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court Street Boston, MA 02108. Michael was born and lived his entire life in Quincy. Michael was drafted with a semi-professional baseball team and then played pro ball for the Cardinals. He then served 4 years in the United States Coast Guard during WWII. He played baseball in Florida, Cuba, Panama, and Nebraska. He also played with Tommy Lasorda. Mr. Conroy was an avid golfer and was a member of the Presidents Golf Club in Quincy, where he had 3 Hole-in-One’s. He was a Disabled American Veteran and was very proud of his service to his country. Mr. Conroy was involved with Troop 168 LST – which was a group made up of veterans that served on landing crafts. He was a member of the North Quincy Knights of Columbus Council #2259. He enjoyed playing horse shoes as well.
