Michael E. Curtin

Curtin, Michael  E. of Wemouth, died unexpectedly on April 28, 2013, he was 42. 

Michael grew up in Quincy. He graduated from North Quincy High School Class of 1988. He went on to further his education and received his college degree from UMass Boston in 1994 and received his Masters degree from Framingham State. Michael was a teacher at the Atlantic Middle School in Quincy for many years. He truly loved being an educator and excelled at his profession. He enjoyed reading and playing golf.  He also enjoyed following all New England sports teams. Michael worked for Quincy recreation as well as Cohasett recreations summer program. Michael was known for his quick wit and the skill of pulling pranks on just about everyone he knew. He had a way of bringing out the best in people, and was always fun to be around. The cornerstone of his life was his family, his wife Amy and his two special daughters Maeve and Lily. He lived for them and in return they cherished him. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.

The beloved husband of Amy (Curran) Curtin of Weymouth.  Devoted father of Maeve Elizabeth Curtin and Lily Catherine Curtin both of Weymouth. Loving son of Denis P. Curtin and Mary M. (Mawn) Curtin of Quincy. Brother of Sheila M. Curtin of Quincy, Annmarie Curtin of Weymouth and Eileen Curtin of Dorchester, Son -in – Law of Ellen P. and James P. Curran of Southold, New York. Brother in law of Kevin Curran and his wife Allison of Rockville Centre, NY and Maggie Stines and her husband Brian of Long Beach, NY. Uncle of James, Patrick and Molly Curran. Michael also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM and Friday 2-4 & 7-9pm  in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 9:15am  prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, North Quincy  at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Michael may be made to the Curtin Education Fund, c/o Quincy Credit Union, 100 Quincy, Ave., Quincy, MA 02169.
