Stamos, Michael C. of Squantum. Mike died as a result of a boating accident after a brief stay at Boston Medical Center. (The family extends a special thank you to the nurses, doctors, nurse practitioners, and chaplain at the Boston Medical Center Surgical Intensive Care Unit.) Michael was born on May 6, 1972, lived every moment to the fullest and died at 2:25 PM on August 20, 2009. Mike is the son of Recilla Stamos and her partner Jack Westerbeke of Milton and Jim Stamos and his wife Marie of Squantum. He is brother to Melissa Kelleter Stamos and her husband Greg of Squantum, Karin Weinstein and her husband Gregg of NJ, Kristen Cahill of Squantum and the late Nicky Stamos. He was special uncle to Drew and Chase Cahill and Kami and Luke Weinstein. He is the beloved grandson of Barbara Stamos of Squantum and the late Betty Jo Nally and Recil Collins. He leaves his uncle, aunt and good friends Steve and Sue Stamos, his dear aunts, Karen West, Sharon Collins and Sandi DiTunno, and many cousins. Mike was a carpenter and landscaper and was in the process of obtaining his Information Technology degree from the University of Phoenix. He was a sports enthusiast, was passionate about the Red Sox, loved to race cars, and was a sports statistician at heart. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Monday, August 24, 2009 from 4- 8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 prior to the Funeral Service in First Church of Squantum at 10 AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity or the Jimmy Fund, 1309 Beacon St., Brookline, MA 02446. Or, perform an act of kindness; Mike would like that for he was kind. Love is kind. “Mike was a very casual guy. His wake will be as casual as he, one that Mike would feel very comfortable in. So, no need to dress up or wear a tie unless you really want to”! –The Stamos Family.
