Michael A. Shaffer

Shaffer, Michael A.  a lifelong resident of Hull, died by accident on January 30, 2014, he was 48.

Beloved son of James Shaffer of Hull and his friend Bobbye Painton and son of  the late Carol (Colwill) Shaffer. Stepson of the late Eleanor M. Conneely-Shaffer.  Cherished father of Courtney M. Shaffer, Michael A Shaffer,II, Christopher M. and Steven Shaffer all of Hull.  Former husband of Kim Shaffer of Hull. Devoted brother of Cheryl Probst of FL, Partick Shaffer of Weymouth and James Shaffer of Plainville. Stepbrother of Kathleen McLaughlin of Weymouth, Maureen, Eileen and Sean Conneely all of Hull, Kevin Conneely of Natick and the late Patrick Conneely. Michael is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Michael was actively involved in Hull youth sports, especially Hull youth football. Coach Mike started the T ball program, he was also involved in lacrosse as well as the soccer program. Mike was always there for his children, he was their biggest fan. You could always find him at any game his children were playing, encouraging them from the sidelines. He was not only supportive to his children but to many others he watched grow up. Mike worked in construction for many years, but the cornerstone of his life was his family. He cherished them all. Although they are heartbroken, they are thankful for all the wonderful memories they created in such a short time. Mike you were taken too soon, but you will never be forgotten. Rest in peace.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 2-4 & 6-9 in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM.  A funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM in Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, Hingham. Cremation will follow.
