Michael A. Morrissey

Michael A. Morrissey, 61, passed away on Dec. 7, 2016 in his home in Duxbury after a courageous fight against cancer.

He was the loving husband of Ann Callanan; devoted father of Andrew and Alicia Morrissey of Lancaster, PA; brother of Jeffrey Morrissey of Dorchester and Janet Dutra of Weymouth; uncle of Marc Dutra of Weymouth; stepfather of Maggie Callanan of Wareham, Julie Callanan of Ennis, MT, Jamie Callanan of Mammoth Lakes, CA; and the son of the late John and Arline Morrissey of Weymouth.

Michael served his country in the Air Force from 1973 to 1981 and after graduating from UMass Boston, he had a long and successful career at the Department of Defense in Boston. He was a fan of the Red Sox, an avid golfer, and bicyclist. He participated in five Bike MS charity rides and even enjoyed a biking trip to Italy with his wife, Ann.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, 720 Broad St., Weymouth at 10:30 AM. A funeral procession to Mayflower Cemetery, 774 Tremont St./Route 3A, Duxbury will immediately follow the Mass. Donations in memory of Mike may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O.
