Michael A. Hughes

Michael A. Hughes, of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester, died suddenly at his home on Wednesday, June 19, 2019. He was 51.

Born in Boston, he was raised in Dorchester and graduated from Boston College High School with the Class of 1985.

Michael worked for Stop & Shop for over 15 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed learning and reading about history. Michael collected military memorabilia and had an affinity for the United States Navy. He enjoyed listening to heavy metal music and spending time with family and friends.

Michael was a loving, honest, strong willed and generous person. He would always help those he loved and cared for. Michael will be missed by all the lives he touched.

Michael was a cherished son of Annie L. (LeBlanc) Hughes Mullally of Medway and the late Alexander V. Hughes, and was the loving grandson of the late Mary A. Grover. Michael was the devoted brother of Nancy Allan and her husband Bobby, Daniel Hughes and his wife Barbara, all of Virginia Beach, Annabelle Belasz and her husband John of Florida, John Hughes and his wife Veronica, Cathy Joslyn and her husband Stanley, all of Quincy, Chuck Hughes and his wife Jane, Maryanne Jones, all of Medway, Benjamin Hughes and his wife Kristen of Walpole and the late Lorraine Hughes. He was the dear nephew of William F. LeBlanc and his wife Andrea of Middleboro and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday, July 5th 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, July 6th at 9AM at the Keohane Funeral Home prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church at 10AM. Services will conclude with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Boston.
