Michael A. Burkard

Michael A. Burkard of Braintree, formerly of Weymouth, died October 24, 2015.

Mike was a jack-of-all-trades. His skill as a mechanic for over 20 years and appreciation for old cars led to being the previous owner of Dunn-Rite Auto in Whitman and had a longtime affiliation as a mechanic for the Weymouth school system. As a great cook, he also owned Pasta Plenty in Weymouth. He loved animals, storytelling, hand writing letters and listening to music. He will be remembered for his giving nature and eagerness to help anyone in need. 

Devoted father of Dan Burkard of Rockland, Caitlin Burkard of Taunton, Chris Burkard of Rockland and the late Michael A. Burkard. Cherished Papa of Christopher Chadwick. Former husband of Virginia (Rogers) Burkard of Rockland. Beloved son of the late Albert Burkard and June Giannone. Loving brother of Janet Moriarty of NH, Karen Lothrop of Hanover, Lynn Burkard of AZ, Albert Burkard of Braintree. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the memorial visitation on Sunday 12-3 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street)  A Celebration of Life Service will follow in the funeral home at 3 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mike may be made to the Chrohn’s & Colitis Foundation, National Processing Center, PO Box 1245, Albert Lea, MN 56007-9976.
