Merritt S. Oleski

Oleski, Merritt S. of Quincy, died  June 17, 2013.

Beloved husband of the late Ruth E. (Doyle) Oleski.  Loving father of Merritt S. Oleski, Jr. and his wife Anne of Cincinnati, John Oleski and his wife Kathryn Esplin-Oleski of Belmont, Diane Pyle and her husband Keith of Quincy, Jane Dixon and her husband George of Cambridge and Mary Ann Oleski of Bridgewater.   Grandfather of Stephen and Kristina Oleski and Michael and Elizabeth Pyle.  Special longtime companion of Elaine Luongo and her family of E. Boston.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 3-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.

 Merritt was Born in Boston and lived in Dorchester before settling in Quincy 29 years ago.  He was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School and Boston University.  He worked for First Mutual Bank in Boston for 15 years before retiring in 1988.  Merritt was an avid Red Sox fan and a history buff.  He enjoyed Polish food and playing trivia.  Merritt was a WWII Army Veteran, 30th Infantry Division, who served in five major campaigns in Europe.  He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known him. 

 A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. John’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Newton Cemetery.
