Melvin L. Hogue Sr.

Hogue, Melvin L. of Quincy, formerly of South Boston, died February 16, 2022.

Melvin worked for Victor Coffee as a machine operator for many years.  He was an avid sports fan and could most often be found watching a Red Sox or New England Patriots game.  Melvin enjoyed doing puzzles and fixing cars.  His main passion in life was his family and spending time with those he loved, especially his grandchildren.  Melvin will be remembered for his contagious laugh, his smile that lit up a room,  quick sense of humor and his charming and friendly personality.  He will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Beloved husband of 63 years to Elizabeth Hogue (Hughes) of Quincy, formerly of South Boston. Loving father of Debbie Stapleton and her late husband Tim of Holbrook, Donna Taylor and her husband Bobby of Holbrook, Melvin Hogue, Jr. of Peabody and Michael Hogue and his wife Shannon of Wilmington.  Devoted Papa of Matthew, Kristen, Lauren, Michelle, Ryanne, Robert, Angelina, Gabriella, Courtney and Jacquelyn.  Caring brother of Richard Hogue and his late wife Shirley of Texas. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during visiting hours on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 9 AM – 1 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday at 1 PM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Boston.
