Melton Howard

Melton Howard, 56, of Weymouth Massachusetts, originally from Syracuse, New York, slipped gently into Gods Hands, Monday, June 3, 2013 surrounded by his loving family.

Melton was born October 13, 1957 in Syracuse, New York to Fred and Ollie (Rogers) Howard. He graduated from William Nottingham High School in 1975 graduated from Erie Community College with an A.S. Melton married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life Robin V. (Moore) Howard in Syracuse, New York.  Melton then moved to Massachusetts with his wife to work for Wollaston Alloys and later City Lights Electrical. While working full time and raising his three children, Melton graduated from the University of Phoenix with a B.S. He was a self-employed electrical supplier at the time of his passing. And an amazing grandfather who loved to spend time with his three grandchildren. Melton also enjoyed computers, projects around the house and spending time with his wife and children. To know Melton was to love him. He’ll be remembered most for his larger than life personality and even bigger smile. His family both local and in Syracuse mattered most to him. He made a lasting and loving impact on anyone he met.

Melton is survived by his wife of 35 yrs Robin of Weymouth, MA, his three children Yvonne Howard, of Weymouth MA, Brandy and Jesse Turner of Randolph, MA and Melton Howard, of Weymouth MA; three grandchildren, Paul T. Pierre, Jainine R. Pierre and Jesse P. Turner, his brothers and sisters Lee Howard, Ernest and Cathy Howard, Marcia and Ferdie Stockard  of Syracuse, NY and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ollie, and brothers Walter and Freddie Howard.

A wake to celebrate, his life will be held from 3:00 – 8:00 pm, Friday, June 7 at McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, 40 Sea Street, North Weymouth MA 02191. A homecoming service will follow Saturday, June 8 at 11:00am at the Christ Church Quincy, 12 Quincy Ave, Quincy MA 01269. A gathering at the funeral home will be held at 10 AM prior to the funeral service.   Memorials may be made in Melton’s name to the Noreen Deady Memorial Fund. www.noreendeady.com.
