Melba M. Nunez

Melba Nuñez, 98, of Weymouth, MA, peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones at her Weymouth home. Born on October 04, 1925, in Ecuador to Justina Santamaria and Celso Nuñez, Melba relocated to Weymouth 24 years ago.

A devoted and caring woman, Melba dedicated herself to her family until her final days. She is survived by her three children: Maria de Pilar Alonzo, Celso Gomez, and Teresa Hubbard, two sons-in-law Marcos Alonzo, Harry Hubbard, along with ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 3 pm to 7 pm at McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, 3 Charles St., Weymouth, MA. 

A memorial mass for Melba will take place at 10am on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at St. Albert’s Church, 1130 Washington St., Weymouth, MA. Following the mass, Melba will be cremated, and her remains will rest in Ecuador beside her cherished family
