Maurice E. Murphy

Maurice E. Murphy died Sept 12 at age 77 after a short illness. Lifelong resident of Hull, retired Hull Police Officer, proprietor of Maurice E. Murphy Realty and Insurance, member of many Town of Hull boards, and passionate gardener.  Son of the late Helen Murphy (Lewis) and Maurice P. Murphy.  Brother of Jean M Benson, Owen Murphy, and Peter (John) Murphy, all pre-deceased.  Survived by his niece Jean Loiselle and her husband Tom and his nephew Edward Benson and his wife Rosemary.  Maurice’s pleasures included a steak or a chop charred on his grill, a great piece of fish at Jake’s, Chinese buffet on Friday, and most of all holding court in the front yard or on his porch with all sorts of folks.  Never afraid to voice his opinion, ask “What’s the good word?”, and always ready to offer help and advice.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-7 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 AM in Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, Hingham. Burial in Hull Village Cemetery, Hull. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Maurice may be made to Alzheimers Assn., MA Chapter, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
