Ballou, Maurice E. “Sunny”, Jr. of Weymouth, passed away unexpectedly on February 11, 2013.

Maurice was very proud of serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was an active man who loved working his job at Shaws Supermarket, after retiring from Hingham Lumber at the age of 65.  Throughout the years he continued to make custom woodwork and work in his yard leveling the ground.  Maurice was active in the VFW of both Braintree and Rockland, along with being a member of the American Legion in Weymouth.  His main passion was his family, especially his great granddaughter. 

Husband of the late Rita Ann.  Caring father of Maurice E. “Jr.” Ballou, III and his wife Laurie of Douglas and Debbie Dalto of Weymouth. Devoted Papa of Melissa Ballou and her husband Jim of Douglas, Ann Kelley and her husband Paul of Weymouth and Danny Dalto and his fiancé Vicky of Weymouth. Loving great Papa of Veronica Dalto of Weymouth.  Brother of Virginia Marks, Elorana Iosue, Patricia Dennison, Judith Hink, and the late Ethel Galleger, Ester Mitchell, Alice Lindquirst and Florence Wedge.  Also survived by many  nieces, and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street).  Funeral service will be celebrated on Friday at 11 AM in McDonald Funeral Home, East Weymouth. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
