Corbett, Matthew J. “Matty” Ret. BFD, of Quincy formerly of S. Boston, October 17, 2004. Husband of Mary (Walsh) of Quincy. Loving father of Stacey Farnham and her husband Michael of Quincy, Matthew Corbett and his wife Wendy of LA and Kerry Collins and her husband Brian of Quincy. Brother of Barbara Flavin of Winthrop, Mary Corbett of Reading, Peg Corbett of Quincy and the late Terry McLaughlin, James and Patrick Corbett. Cherished grandfather of Ryan, Justin, Jimmy and Sean Farnham of Quincy, Christy Berry, Lauren and Matthew Corbett of LA and Brian, Brendan and Maeve Collins of Quincy. Mr. Corbett was appointed to Boston Fire Department on June 3, 1970. He was promoted to Lieutenant on May 23, 1979 and to Captain on June 6, 1984. He retired from the department on June 30, 1992. Matthew was assigned to Engine Co. 25, Fire Prevention and the Public Information Office at Headquarters. He worked as the fire department liason between several major television series including “Spencer for Hire” and “48 Hours.” He was a late member of Boston Firefighter’s Local 718, Society of St. Florian, Boston Firemen’s Relief Fund and the Boston Firemen’s Mutual Relief Fund. He loved the ocean and enjoyed sailing. Matthew worked in the South Boston Post Office and the Quincy Fire Department prior to his appointment to the Boston Fire Department.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home 785 Hancock St. , WOLLASTON Friday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass from St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 227 Sea St., Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in New Calvary Cemetery, Boston. Donations in memory of Mr. Corbett may be made to the Boston Firemen’s Relief Fund 115 Southhampton St. Boston, MA 02118.
