Matthew Edward Maloney

Maloney, Matthew Edward “Edso” “Zippy” of Braintree, passed away April 21, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Joan (Allen) Maloney. Brother in law of Marlene Allen and the late William F. Allen. Uncle of Lisa M. Elliott and her husband Robert of Nashua, NH and Mark W. Allen of San Mateo, CA. Dear friend and companion of Adeline “Addie” Harrison of South Boston. Great uncle of James, Kevin and Robert Elliott and Lauren Allen. Cousin of Marion R. Litchfield and her husband Dean of Middleboro and Janet Kane and her husband Al of Weymouth. Matthew was also survived by many other family and friends. Edso worked as a clerical worker for the railroad for over 45 years in Boston before retiring. He was a member of the Braintree Elks # 2622 and the Castle Island Association for many years where he was very active. He enjoyed being a handy man fixing things around the house and also helping family with anything that needed to be fixed. He enjoyed spending time with his family who were very important to him. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45AM prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Assisi Braintree, at 10:30AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
