Holcomb, MaryAlice (Mulhearn) of Squantum, age 70 years, was called to the Lord suddenly on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Quincy Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of James A. Holcomb of Squantum for 50 years. Daughter of the late Thomas F. and Ivy D. Mulhearn. Loving mother of Susan A. Poulin and her husband Keith of Belchertown, James A Holcomb, Jr. and his wife Karen of Quincy, Patricia A. Holcomb and her fiance Mark Swinimer of Brockton and Rebecca L. Andrews and her husband David of Tewksbury. She was the original Lady GaGa to her seven grandchildren: Scott, Michael, Lynne, Gregory, James III, Andrea and Mark. Sister of Patricia A. Mellon and her husband Tom of Maine and David T. Mulhearn and his wife Debra of Maine. She was the aunt of three nephews Andrew, Matthew and Jonathan. Maryalice leaves behind her fuzzy kids: Daisy and Buttons who will miss her lap. Mrs. Holcomb was born in Bayonne, NJ and moved to Squantum as a small child. MaryAlice spent 20 years as an Army military wife and lived all over the country and world. She was awarded the “Military Wife of the Year Award” in 1966. She was employed at the New England State Street Bank as a private secretary in the late 50s. MaryAlice was a Girl Scout Leader as well as a School Volunteer. She enjoyed gardening and reading until the wee hours the morning. Mrs. Holcomb was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know her. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Tuesday, September 14, 2010 3- 7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 7PM. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at a later date.
