Mary T. Brown

Brown, Mary T. “Mamie” (Corbett) of Hingham, died June 15, 2015. 

Mamie was born in Ireland in 1925. She came to the United States at the age of 39 where she met the love of her life, Joseph A. Brown, a court reporter. They lived happily on Longmeadow Road for almost forty years and developed close bonds with neighbors. Mary was a devoted and active parishioner of the Church of the Resurrection in Hingham where she was a member of the choir, the guild, and the group that cleaned the church on Mondays.  Mary and Joe volunteered at South Shore Hospital in the Endoscopy unit for many years.  Mamie grew up with music and loved to sing. She will be remembered for her deep abiding love for her family and church, positive attitude, and her wonderful sense of humor.

Pre-deceased by beloved husband Joseph A. Brown.  Loving sister of Kathleen Dunican of Ireland and the late Thomas and Patrick Corbett and Lucy Scullion of Ireland. Devoted aunt to many nieces and nephews both in Ireland and the United States.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from 4-7 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM Thursday, June 25, 2015 prior to the Funeral Mass in Church of the Resurrection, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial in Hingham Cemetery, Hingham. 

The family of Mamie would like to thank the staff at the Queen Anne Nursing Home for the tremendous care and love they provided to Mary during the past year.
