Mary S. Grassie

Grassie, Mary S. (CecharIo) of Hingham, passed away September 30, 2017.

Mary was a longtime resident of Hingham. She worked for the Town of Hingham DPW as a secretary for many years. Prior to that she had worked as a crossing guard and then a dispatcher for the Town of Hingham Police Department. In her retirement she enjoyed working the Town of Hingham’s election polls as well as volunteering at the Town Hall, where her love of socializing and helpfulness really shined. She also loved music, particulary Andrea Boccelli and Elvis. Mary will be remembered for her great sense of humor and her beauty inside and out.. She will be sadly missed by many.

Loving Wife of the late Joseph Grassie. Cherished mother to Maureen Martin and her husband Marshall of CA, Gail Hoelschen and her husband Clayton of Hingham, Donna Linskey and her husband Stephen of Hingham, and Paul Grassie and his wife Eileen of Hingham.  Grandmother to Danielle Hoelschen of Hingham and Monique Herrera of CA. Great-grandmother to Anthony and Michael Herrera.  Beloved sister to Madeline Hargadon and her husband the late Thomas of Cohasset and the late Viola McLaughlin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
