Mary P. (Dowd) Lee

Mary P. (Dowd) Lee of Hull, formerly of Dorchester, a retired nursing home housekeeper, died at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth on Monday, November 1, 2010. She was 73. Mary was born in Somerville and raised in Dorchester. She was a graduate of Mount St. Joseph Academy in Brighton. Mary was deeply devoted to her family and enjoyed hosting them in her home especially for holidays. She also enjoyed Irish music. She was the loving wife of nearly 51 years to the late William E. Lee, the devoted mother of William Lee of Hull, James Lee of Quincy, Joseph Lee and his wife Effie of Weymouth, Danny Lee and his wife Tricia of N. Easton, Janet Lee of Hull, Erin Lee and her partner Brian More of Hull, Bridget Sullivan and her husband John of Rockland, the late Richard, Mary and Kelley Lee and the loving “Nana” to eleven grandchildren. She was also the sister of Carol Cutone of Weymouth, Robert Dowd of Quincy, Janet Dowd of Quincy, Florence Peters of Germany and the late Barbara Nihill and Frances White. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation period in Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, on Friday beginning at 8:30 AM. A Life Celebration Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 AM prior to a Funeral Mass in Saint Ann Church, Wollaston at 10:00 AM. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne will be 12:30 PM. Donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen Street Framingham, MA 01701-1803.
