Mary O’Brien

O’Brien, Mary (Stanchina) of Hingham, died after a brief illness.

Mary was the beloved wife of 52 years of Edward O’Brien of Hingham. Loving mother of Edward O’Brien Jr. and his wife Amy of Scituate and Susan Lujan of New Mexico. Devoted Nana of Christopher, Thomas, and Lucas. Caring sister of the late Richard Stanchina. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Mary was born and raised in Quincy. She enjoyed gardening, reading and days at the beach. Mary’s main passion was her grandchildren; she was their number one cheerleader, attending most of their sporting and school events. Recently, she volunteered at the Hingham Public Library.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:45 AM Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in Church of the Resurrection, Hingham at 11:30 AM.
