Mary Mulkerin Donius

Mary Mulkerin Donius, age 51, of Hingham, formerly of Winchester, died peacefully on July 29 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Beloved wife of Kevin Donius and mother of Maggie, Jack, Michael, and Caitlin. Adored sister of Anna Mulkerin Baxter (Bill) of Winchester and Boston, and John Mulkerin (Rebeka) of Quincy, aunt of Katherine and Will Baxter and Rory and Scarlett Mulkerin, daughter-in-law of Paula and Alvin Donius, sister-in-law of John, Chris, and Laura Donius. Born and raised in Winchester by the late Jack and Judy Mulkerin; sister of the late Julie Mulkerin.

BA in economics from Trinity University in Washington D.C.  Director of Communications for Fidelity Investments in Boston. Reporter and essayist for the Boston Globe. Deeply involved in many civic and non-profit groups. Loved learning, laughing, singing. Cherished time with family and friends. Reveled in mothering her four children and delighted in all their achievements. Lit up every room she entered. An eternal optimist with an unwavering belief in the world’s goodness, Mary was loved by virtually everyone who crossed the many paths she traveled through life.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial in Hingham Cemetery.
