Mary (Monaghan) Reilly

Reilly, Mary (Monaghan) of Weymouth, passed away on February 19, 2024. She was 91.

Born in 1932 in Scotland she was the daughter to Thomas and Corina (Dante) Monaghan.

Mary was raised during WW 2 in Girvan Scotland and was very proud of her Scottish heritage.

She was an avid reader and her favorites were historical fiction. 

Christmas was her favorite time of the year. Our house was always decorated to the max and there was always something baking in the oven.

She worked for many years at the IHOP in Quincy. She often walked Wollaston beach in Quincy with her beloved dog Tanya.

She loved her weekly Bingo nights and many trips to Foxwoods.

Predeceased by her husband John Reilly.

Loving mother to Anne Marks and her husband Joseph of Weymouth, Michael Reilly and his wife Lisa of Braintree, Anthony Reilly and his wife Donna of CA, Mark Reilly of NH, Karyn McCarthy and her partner Paul of Braintree, Thomas Reilly of Weymouth, Daniel Reilly and his wife Lizz of Amesbury, and the late Steven Reilly. Sister to the late Thomas Monaghan, the late Matilda Ross, the late Charlotte Boyd, and the late Corina Cunningham. Also survived by 16 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 AM Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Clare’s Church at 10 AM in Braintree. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mary may be made to Norwell VNA and Hospice, 120 Longwater Drive, Norwell, MA 02061 and/or The Breast Cancer Treatment Center at Dana Farber, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston MA 02215.
