Mary M. Roth

Mary M. (Russell) Roth passed away peacefully with family by her side on June 20. She was 96 years young. She was born in New York City on February 9, 1915 to Patrick Russell and Delia Davit [Russell]. She grew up in New York City and met her husband, Howard, while in high school. She worked in New York at the phone company. They married on September 27, 1935 in New York City. They moved to Syracuse, NY and lived in the Syracuse area (Elbridge and Camillus) for 30 years before moving to Massachusetts, where they lived between Hingham and Harwich for 25 years. They also resided in Jupiter, FL in the winter beginning in 1982. Mary is survived by her children, Howard and Nancy Roth of Hutchinson Island, FL, Richard and Joanne (Barry) Roth of Cazenovia, NY, Kenneth and Colleen Roth of Cohasset, MA, Mary Louise and Arthur Bradley of Milton, MA, Vincent and Ellie Roth of Hull, MA, Colleen Roth and her loving partner Charles Yannizzi of Pembroke, MA, and Peter and Kim Roth of Hingham, MA. Sister of Patricia Isaacs of Columbus, Ohio, and the late Kathleen Bunten, Norah ‘Nonie’ McGee, Margaret, Thomas, John, and Eileen Russell. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mary has always been active in the Catholic church and was an active Communicant at St. Patrick’s Church in Jordan, NY, St Paul’s Church in Hingham, MA, St Patrick’s Church in Jupiter, FL, and St Claire’s Parish in Braintree, MA. Mary was the beloved matriarch of the family and loved being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren at the numerous family gatherings that were held throughout the year. She was truly the back bone of the Roth clan and will be dearly missed, loving memories of Mary and the family events will be cherished forever. A wake will be held at Pyne Keohane Funeral Chapel, 21 Emerald Street, Hingham, MA on Friday June 24 from 4-8PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St Paul’s Church, North Street, Hingham, MA on Saturday June 25 at 10 AM. Burial will follow in St Paul’s Cemetery in Hingham. in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Boston College High School Scholarship Fund in memory of Howard and Mary Roth, 150 Morrissey Blvd., Boston, MA 02125.
